Gilbert Sebihogo, Executive Director of the Network of African Human Rights Institutions, extended his thanks and appreciation for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, for his kind directives for the Egyptian authorities to provide the necessary financial support for the Network of African Human Rights Institutions to pursue its activities in promoting the culture of human rights, support African human rights institutions and protect human rights in the African continent.

He added that this support underscores the prominent stature of Egypt in the African continent, and highlights its support for national human rights institutions.

Sebihogo made this statement today during the General Assembly meeting of the Network of African Human Rights Institutions held today via video conference (Zoom application), under the chairmanship of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The Network of African Human Rights Institutions is a regional organization that includes national independent institutions operating in the promotion and protection of human rights in Africa. The network provides technical support to all member organisations, to reinforce their capacities to be able to pursue their activities aimed at promoting and protecting human rights.

The vision of the network is to ensure the establishment of an efficient national human rights institution across the African continent, in conformity with Paris principles and contributing to strengthening human rights and justice to benefit all Africans.
