NCHR’s statement on the World Humanitarian Day

The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) stressed its continuous support for all efforts aimed at strengthen humanitarian action and to all individuals operating in this field, who are working in dire and extraordinary conditions to guarantee the safety of others and the return to normalcy.
That was part of the NCHR’s statement on the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day that falls on August 19th of every year.
Moreover, the council stressed that the World Humanitarian Day this year is taking place amid direct implications of climate changes, as well as the risks and outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the council highlights the importance of public raising awareness by relevant organisations, underscoring the role of humanitarian workers to protect others
