The National Council for Human Rights holds the first meeting of the coordinating committee of the cooperation program with the European Union

Today, the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) held the first meeting of the Coordination Committee of the cooperation program between NCHR and the European Union (EU), in the presence of a number of NCHR members, Where Ambassador Moushira  Khattab NCHR President reviewed in her speech the period from December 2022 to June 2023, represented in the NCHR efforts in preparing the national plan for human rights, capacity building for NCHR cadres, preparing the organizational structure of NCHR, promoting the culture of human rights among university youth, cooperating with civil society organizations, cooperating with the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as cooperating with various ministries, especially the Ministries of Interior, Justice, Social Solidarity, and Youth, as well as human rights councils such as the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, and the Council The National Population Council, and the Council for Persons with Disabilities. Khattab also reviewed the role of NCHR in preparing panel discussions on the Criminal Procedure Code, the Penal Code, the Freedom of Information Act and NCHR Act, and NCHR contribution to the National Dialogue sessions. The attendees also stressed the importance of NCHR Complaints System, and Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of EU Mission in Cairo, affirmed EU support for the joint cooperation program with NCHR, and its appreciation for the efforts made in this program, and affirmed that this effort is a sign of good management., wise leadership, and availability of political will to achieve success in the field of human rights, and this will reflect positively on the image of Egypt in EU reports related to human rights.
