The National Council for Human Rights holds a workshop entitled “Dialogue with Youth on the Concepts and Challenges of Implementing Human Rights”

The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) held a workshop entitled “Dialogue with Youth on the Concepts and Challenges of Implementing Human Rights” on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in Ismailia Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, within the framework of the project “Supporting efforts made to enhance political participation and democratic mechanisms in Egypt” in partnership with the Swiss Embassy in Egypt. The workshop was inaugurated by Professor Ghada Hammam, member of NCHR and Secretary of the Committee for Civil and Political Rights, Professor Mohamed Anwar Sadat, member of the NCHR, Dr. Magdy Abdel Hamid, director of the project, and Dr. Howaida Al-Shahed, head of the Human Rights Unit at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The workshop covered the following topics:

• The emergence of Human Rights, its beginning of awareness, and its historical development.

• The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and relevant international agreements.

• A panel discussion on the “National Human Rights Strategy.”

• A research competition on the themes of Human Rights as stated in the Convention
