The National Council for Human Rights in its report: A flagrant violation of international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank

The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) prepared a report monitoring developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with regard to human rights violations as a result of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

The official spokesman for NCHR stated that monitoring the repercussions of the situation had resulted in a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, in particular the Fourth Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilians during Armed Conflicts, and a violation of international human rights law, in particular the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and what is stipulated in the two International Covenants regarding the right of peoples to self-determination, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Convention for the Prevention of Torture, and all forms of degrading treatment, including the use of excessive force against defenseless civilians. The systematic destruction of residential homes, attacks on hospitals and other centers providing services to civilians, which must be safe points, the forced displacement of defenseless residents, and forcing residents to migrate to neighboring countries, which would fuel violence and eliminate any chances for peace in the region.
