The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) has completed all preparations to follow up on the 2024 presidential elections, which will begin tomorrow, Friday, 12/1/2023, for voting for Egyptians abroad for a period of three days (December 1 to 3, 2023), and for Egyptians at home during the period from 10, 11, and 12/12/2023 and rounds and runoff rounds, if applicable.
Based on NCHR’s role in following up on the presidential elections as one of the basic pillars to ensure that citizens exercise their constitutional rights and enjoy their civil and political rights, most notably participation in public affairs and the right to vote, NCHR follows up the electoral voting processes for the presidential elections for Egyptians abroad and at home by applying the recognized human rights approach in accordance with international standards to ensure neutrality and integrity. And sound democratic rules and practices in this regard, and national legal standards regulating the electoral process and the code of conduct for observers.
NCHR follows up on voting operations through the central follow-up room at its main headquarters and sub-rooms in its branches in the governorates 24 hours a day, as well as field follow-up through NCHR’s presidency and members, the Secretary-General and its technical secretariat, and in coordination with the National Elections Authority.
NCHR also participates in the work of the Media Monitoring Committee at the headquarters of the National Media Authority, which is responsible for monitoring television and radio materials for outlets affiliated with the National Media Authority.
