The National Council for Human Rights, under the leadership of Ambassador Moushira Khattab, PhD, NCHR President, has renewed its steadfast support for the rights of the Palestinian people on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed annually on 29 November.
NCHR underscores the fundamental significance of upholding the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
NCHR has voiced its grave concern regarding ongoing violations, which it describes as constituting acts of genocide against the Palestinian people. It unequivocally condemns the policies pursued by the Israeli occupation, asserting that these measures systematically infringe upon the rights of the Palestinian people and jeopardize their legitimate pursuit of freedom and human dignity.
NCHR calls for the respect of international humanitarian law and the implementation of relevant United Nations resolutions to achieve a just and comprehensive peace. The National Council for Human Rights reiterated this stance during its meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, held in the context of NCHR's presidency of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI).
NCHR lauds Egypt’s role, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in supporting the Palestinian cause through dedicated diplomatic efforts and humanitarian assistance extended to the brotherly Palestinian people, particularly during the current crises.
NCHR further calls on the international community to uphold its responsibilities towards the Palestinian cause and to work earnestly to end the Israeli occupation and ensure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, thereby contributing to security and stability throughout the region.
