NCHR and OHCHR Discuss Strengthening Existing Partnerships and Cooperation Programmes

Dr. Ahmed Ihab Gamaleldin, President of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), received Mr. Mohamed Alnsour, Chief of the Middle East and North Africa Section at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and Mr. Akram Khalifa, Coordinator of the North Africa Team and Egypt Country Programme at OHCHR. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, Vice President of NCHR; Ms. Yara Kassem, Ms. Vivian Mourad, and Mr. Mohamed Osman, Members of the Council; as well as Dr. Hany Ibrahim, Secretary-General of NCHR.

The meeting discussed ways to further develop the existing cooperation between NCHR and OHCHR and build upon their ongoing partnerships and joint programmes. Discussions focused on enhancing the exchange of expertise in areas related to human rights while promoting knowledge-sharing and the dissemination of relevant best practices.

The meeting also reviewed the current areas of cooperation between the two institutions and explored opportunities to further strengthen and expand them in a manner that aligns with NCHR’s priorities for the coming period.

Both sides reaffirmed the importance of building on the progress achieved through existing partnerships and cooperation between NCHR and OHCHR and expressed their commitment to further developing these initiatives and maximizing their impact in the period ahead.
