The President of the National Council for Human Rights Signs Cooperation Protocol with the Administrative Control Authority

Mohamed Fayek, President of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) stressed that the cooperation protocol that was signed between the NCHR and the Administrative Control Authority is a major milestone in terms of promoting human rights and values of integrity and transparency. He also expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to General Hassan Abdel Shafi and the Administrative Control Authority for signing the cooperation protocol. He added that the NCHR won’t spare any effort for making this protocol applicable through a work programme that reflects the common aspirations, which include fighting corruption and respecting human rights.

The NCHR’s president has expressed his personal appreciation as well as the council’s appreciation of the role played by the Administrative Control Authority and the concerned bodies in fighting corruption and protecting national achievements.

The purpose of the signed protocol is to exchange experience in areas of mutual interest, in the light of the goals of the national strategy for human rights, National Anti-Corruption Strategy and the international and regional covenants. Also, it aims to exchange training activities; spread awareness regarding human rights culture and contribute to Egypt’s implementation of its international obligations arising from the relevant international agreements provisions.

The cooperation protocol was signed on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 during the events to mark International Anti-Corruption Day, organized by the Administrative Control Authority, and in conjunction with the International Human Rights Day. It was signed by Mohamed Fayek, President of the National Council for Human Rights and General Hassan Abdel Shafi, Head of the Administrative Control Authority. The signing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
