Ambassador Moushira Khattab, President of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), thanked the state under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for its efforts and efforts in propagating, protecting and promoting human rights.
Khattab added that NCHR has a classification of (A), which is the highest classification of National Human Rights institutions, as a result of the role it plays at the local, regional and international levels. The President of NCHR addressed a salute to the soul of late Dr. Boutros Ghali attheoccasion of his centennial anniversary for itwas he who launched the sparkle ofNCHR at the international level, and contributed significantly and effectively in the establishment of the NCHR.
Khattab alao appreciated the relationship between the parliament and the parliament with its two chambers (Deputies and Senate), which contributes to serving the country, the citizens and promoting human rights.
Khattab also emphasized the importance of the role that political parties can play as a cornerstone of the democratic system through the National Strategy for Human Rights, which is a serious step for the advancement of Human Rights in Egypt.
Mr. Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, Chairman of the Civil and Political Rights Committee of NCHR, said that this meeting comes within the framework of a series of meetings that the committee holds to listen to the visions of all stakeholders in public affairs to contribute to supporting civil and political rights, noting that NCHR had previously held several meetings with trade unions. and media institutions.
The panel discussion took place in two sessions, the first session on the role of parties in promoting the culture of Human Rights, while the second was on the popular and societal supervisory role of political parties in following up the implementation of the National Strategy for Human Rights. While Mr. Saeed Abdel Hafez, Rapporteur of the Committee for the Dissemination of the Culture of Human Rights, expressed that this meeting comes to identify the visions of political parties that contribute to the promotion and dissemination of a culture of Human Rights, as well as to provide a specialized field between the parties on following up the implementation of the National Strategy for Human Rights.
While Mr. George Ishaq, member of NCHR, expressed the importance of these meetings to contribute to the efforts made to identify the challenges facing a number of political parties and try to overcome them and reach an environment that supports the work of the parties.
It is worth noting that a number of political parties, parliamentarians, civil society organizations, and representatives of media institutions and research and intellectual centers participated in the meeting.
