NCHR participates in Egyptian, African university students training programme

The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), represented by Mohamed Mamdouh, NCHR member, participated in the activities of the training programme for public and private university students and African student unions, carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

In a lecture about the national human rights strategy, NCHR member Mohamed Mamdouh highlighted the national strategy’s implementation pillars and the related activities which include human rights education and capacity building. He also stressed that this is the first human rights national comprehensive and long term strategy to be launched by the country, noting that it aims to enhance human rights in Egypt, by strengthening respect for civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights.

The training programme for public and private university students and African student unions, carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the theme “Moving Forward”, underscores the Egyptian state’s keenness to strengthen ties with the African continent. The programme is attended by heads of student unions from Chad, Congo, Mauritania, Malawi, Cote D’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
