The legislative affairs committee in the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), on Sunday, held its regular meeting presided over by Dr. Anas Gaafar, committee head, which was attended by the NCHR President, Ambassador Dr. Moushira Khattab.
The meeting addressed the NCHR action plan to implement the country’s national human rights strategy. The committee has drafted a list of the legislations that the council plans to review and ensure their consistency with the constitutions and the country’s human rights international obligations.
The legislative affairs committee has presented suggestions of the aforementioned legislations to relevant authorities, aiming to establish fruitful cooperation with all relevant authorities in the near future.
During the meeting, Dr. Anas Gaafar stressed that implementing the provisions of the national human rights strategy is a key priority on NCHR’s agenda, noting that Egypt started a new era in the field of respect for human rights.
Moreover, the legislative affairs committee in the National Council for Human Rights also discussed the labour bill upon the Parliament’s request.
