The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) has concluded the capacity-building training programme for the council’s technical cadres and the officials of the human rights, equality of opportunity, and civic service department unites across 12 governorates. The programme was joined by 44 male and female trainees from across different governorate: Kafr El Sheikh, Gharbia, Asyut, New Valley, Beni Suef, Marsa Matruh, Faiyum, Sohag, Aswan, Suez, South Sinai, and Al Qalyubia governorates.
The training programme tackled the following:
The rights and freedoms contained in the Constitution and laws
The 2030 National Sustainable Development Strategy
The methodology for the preparation of the qualitative and international reports
The human rights basic knowledge
The international protection regime contained in international conventions and the charter
The competencies of human rights units, and how to strengthen their roles
The participants recommended the continuity of the technical support for the researchers in the branches, introducing them to the recent updates in the human rights field
The participants expressed their satisfaction with the benefits they got from the programme, and required a continuity of support for these unites to enable them doing their parts. The thing that the council will work on, in collaboration with the stakeholders, through this year.
