The National Council for Human Rights Holds a Seminar about the Pre-trial Detention

The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) will hold a seminar titled “Constitutional and legal guarantees for Arrest and pre-trial detention” on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

The seminar will be participated by a number of representatives of governmental bodies, civil society organizations, law professors, and media.

The National Council for Human Rights stresses that the protection of freedoms and human rights is one of the most sacred kinds of the legal protection, with its various types, where the human right to life and physical integrity are from the most important rights that all the constitutions and legal regulations are keen on protecting. There are numerous international treaties in force that protect these rights unequivocally.

The Constitution, and subsequently the Egyptian Criminal Code, guaranteed provisions that recognize the necessity and importance of protecting these rights without discrimination of any kind.
